Welcome to the Movement Within Regenerative Healthcare Website
All the health benefits of Tai Chi come from doing it daily for ten minutes.
The purpose of the warm up exercise is to develop independence of motion with the basic moves of the form. The idea of moving diagonally is fundamental to managing incoming force. The square forces your mind to understand the movement in all directions, both moving forward and backward.
Remember to complete the square in all moves with tiger step based on the tripod stance. One moves from corner to corner. Moving up requires a step to the center. Move with a 45 degree angle and complete each move with a tiger step which presses the ball of the foot to the ground lightly. The step across the square is a bit deeper than the step to the center. Moving down the square also requires a step to the center. Always complete the square to its original starting position. Each step is an alternating step like normal walking ... left, right, left, right until the steps come back to the beginning.
