Tai Chi Chuan is the quinessential Healing Workout. Tai Chi benefits include walking effortlessly, boosting the immune system, moving energy, warming up the joints, and releasing oxygen and endorphins. Note these are the first six steps of the plan.
Tai Chi in China is known as their Medicare system. It is a system that keeps their elderly healthy. All the health benefits of Tai Chi come from doing it daily for ten minutes. Ten minutes of Tai Chi exercise will flush the lymph and is equivalent to twenty minutes of cardio workout. The deep breathing and slow movement will relax both the mind and body. It increases range of motion without stretching or hyper-extension.
This series of eight lessons will cover the Sparrow Basic form slowly. Each lesson is learning one movement until the first five movements are covered. Then the basic form in introduced. Then three warm ups will be added with an alternate way of stepping.
These lessons cover the Sparrow aspect of working yourself out of a corner using the Yang style Tai Chi short form created by Cheng Man Ching.
The warm ups help teach independence of motion.
